Call out for Hosts for Scottish Borders Cultural Forum Gatherings

April 2017 Post

We are now looking for groups, organisations or venues who would like to host a gathering of the Scottish Borders Cultural Forum.

The Scottish Borders Cultural Forum supports the work of the local cultural sector by creating a space for networking, sharing concerns, ideas and resources and finding solutions to common problems.  It is a champion not just for the cultural sector but also for culture’s role in the economy, environment, education, health and the quality of life that is so important to the Scottish Borders.

The first monthly gathering of the Scottish Borders Cultural Forum took place in April 2016 at Tower Mill in Hawick and linked with the launch of that year’s Alchemy Film Festival.  Subsequent gatherings have covered the Borders from Peebles to Eyemouth and have linked with many interesting and varied events including open studios, residencies, performances, festivals and exhibitions. The monthly gatherings of the Scottish Borders Cultural Forum have evolved to become an invaluable asset to the creative sector in the Scottish Borders, facilitating the sharing of information and experiences and providing opportunities to network and collaborate.

What we are looking for from potential hosts are a free venue for approximately 20 – 30 people and a short presentation about their event/organisation/group/venue. Many gatherings have linked to an event although this does not necessarily have to be the case. Live Borders will support catering costs.

If you would be interested in hosting a gathering of the Cultural Forum please get in touch by emailing or call 01450 360682.
