Dream Time Dance Residency in the Scottish Borders 2017

Closing date for applications : 5.00pm, Monday 1st May 2017

Applications are now open for a week-long Dream Time residency at the Studio on the Green in Selkirk, Scottish Borders.  This is an annual residency which exists to support choreographers and artists to create innovative new work.  The residency is a creative initiative between Dance Base, the Studio on the Green and Live Borders - Arts and Creativity. The Dream Time creative residencies have run since 2012 and have been awarded to Ian Spink, Tess Letham, Michael Sherin, Claire Pencak and Mhairi Allan, with Emma Jayne Park and Tara Silverthorn in 2016 . The venue is The Studio on the Green in Selkirk, founded in 1989 by Jenna Agate and Trevor Timms, it is a custom-built dance studio with sprung hard wood floor and natural light set in a peaceful location, affording a supportive and nurturing environment for project participants.

"...the single studio space has a warm and friendly atmosphere.  Jenna Agate was available as a sensitive and valuable "outside eye" and also host to our work during our 5 days there.  As an easily accessible studio space in which to create work, uninterrupted, this place was ideal.  The rural location created a calming effect on us all..." Ian Spink on his Dream Time residency.
