Dedicated support for the Creative Arts Sector in the Scottish Borders
CABN – Creative Arts Business Network supports, advocates for, catalyses and connects the creative sector across the Scottish Borders. CABN focuses on professional creative practice while also welcoming emerging and community-based creatives working across all artforms. Alongside supporting individual practitioners and creative micro-businesses, CABN engages with sector organisations, community groups and strategic partners to strengthen opportunities for creativity and culture across the region.
CABN’s core role is as a network and central communications resource for the creative sector in the Borders. Through its monthly online newsletter, dedicated website, enquiry service and social media presence, CABN shares opportunities, events, sector news and professional development resources relevant to artists, makers, freelancers and cultural organisations. To join the CABN mailing list or share an opportunity through the network, please contact CABN, hello@cabn.info
CABN also delivers a mentoring and skills development programme, working with a pool of freelance artform specialists based within the Scottish Borders who provide 1:1 support, advice and sector insight. Alongside this, CABN produces an events programme including networking opportunities, artist showcases, creative practice workshops, professional development sessions and cross-sector learning events designed to support and strengthen the region’s creative community.
CABN is currently evolving from a project hosted by Southern Uplands Partnership into its own independent organisation. This transition marks an important new chapter for CABN, enabling the network to grow its impact, strengthen advocacy for the creative sector, and better represent and support its members and communities across the Scottish Borders.
