Scottish Borders Cultural Forum | April Gathering

Upper Loch At Bowhill

Monday 30 April 2018, 6.30 – 8.30pm (Save the Date & RSVP!)

Venue: Bowhill House, Selkirk, TD7 5ET

Everyone with an interest in culture, heritage and the arts is invited to the next Scottish Borders Cultural Forum. The forum is an informal event – a chance to network, find out about local projects and initiatives and this month is kindly hosted by Bowhill House near Selkirk.

There will be short presentations from:

· Helen Currie, House and Events Manager at Bowhill House will talk about their programme for young people and families

· Kevin Greenfield talking about his new role as Creative Learning Assistant for Scottish Borders Council – Children and Young People’s Services

· Andrew Mackenzie, who is currently Project Artist for the Hawick Flood Protection Scheme will talk about how arts is being integrated into the scheme and how he is building on an initial residency phase in 2016.

· Lawrence Robertson, will talk about the Black Bob Heritage group and their public art commission for the Selkirk Flood Protection Scheme.

The Cultural Forum supports the work of the local cultural sector by creating a space for networking, sharing concerns, ideas and resources and finding solutions to common problems. The Forum comes together informally on a regular monthly basis in different locations and provides a social get together, a discussion and a lively cultural experience. It is a champion not just for the cultural sector but also for culture’s role in the economy, environment, education, health and the quality of life that is so important to the Scottish Borders.

Refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. Please advise when booking if you have any special dietary requirements. The event is free but places must be booked in advance. To reserve your place, please email admin at cabn@liveborders1.org.uk or call 01750 726400 no later than 11am on Monday 30 April 2018.

Delegate List: Attendees at previous gatherings have found the delegate list useful in terms of following up on conversations with specific people or organisations enabling the exchange of information and contacts. We will be putting together a delegate list (which will include your email address) for this Gathering so please let us know if you DO NOT wish to be included. It would be useful when booking if you could indicate which job title and business/organisation name you would like us to include.
