CABN CATALYST roles for Engagement and Sustainability

CABN CATALYSTS – two transformation roles to support the creative sector in the Scottish Borders

Application Deadline: 9am Monday 19th September 2022

  • CABN CATALYST for ENGAGEMENT
  • CABN CATALYST for SUSTAINABILITY

The Scottish Borders Place Partnership* are seeking to recruit two exceptional individuals to act as Catalysts and guide the transition of CABN (Creative Arts Business Network) from its current position in Live Borders to a sustainable, independent sector led model over the course of a 12 month period. The two Catalysts will work collaboratively, with the Catalyst for Sustainability focused on the development of the new model, and the Catalyst for Engagement focused on network engagement and communications.   Both will be a point of contact and will provide support and advice for creative individuals and organisations in the Scottish Borders.

CABN (Creative Arts Business Network) is a project which has supported the professional creative sector in the Scottish Borders since 2009 and is in transition from its current home in Arts & Creativity, Live Borders to a new, independent, sector led model. CABN has developed a unique way of working and is a valued service to creative professionals and the wider cultural sector in the Scottish Borders, acting as a central point of contact, a source of local knowledge, and as a mechanism for influence and representation.

We are looking for two people with experience and knowledge of working in the creative sector, who may have their own creative business or practice and who understand the dynamics, challenges and opportunities of working in a rural context. Ideally they will be based in the Scottish Borders or with experience of living and working in the region.

The duration of the transition and these freelance contracts will be 12 months from start date ideally early October 2022. 4 days a week, flexible working. Salary: £26,400 (£33,000 at 0.8FTE pro rata).

We welcome applications from individuals or teams who already work together, or those who wish to job share or approach the opportunity in a specific way. A 0.8FTE (4 days a week) contract is offered but we can be flexible depending on personal circumstances. We are keen to find the right people for this work, so if you feel you are that person, please get in touch!

Closing date for applications is Monday 19th September 2022, 9am.

* The Scottish Borders Place Partnership is led by Creative Scotland and Scottish Borders Council and is a strategic programme designed to encourage and support local partners to work together with their creative communities and Creative Scotland.
