CABN Swap Shop @ Manifest 2022

What is a Swap Shop?

It is a free and local exchange where creatives can pass on things (eg materials, sheet music, paint, fabric) they no longer want, in exchange for something they need – a cashless bring-and-buy sale!

Participants do not need to bring anything in order to take away goods, and vice versa.

Swap shops recognise that things no longer wanted by someone, might be another person’s treasure. By reusing things we cut down on the amount of waste that goes into landfill and reduce the amount of resources that we use in manufacturing of new products. And it saves money!

Items suitable to bring (general guidance):

Books (about creative practice, techniques/ methods), DVDs, small tools and brushes, canvas and frames, paper and card

o   Must be fit for reuse

o   No electrical items

o   No heavy items – unless a photo to place on the table to arrange for collection

o   At the end of the event if your items have not been swapped this time please remove and take home or they will be taken to a local charity shop.

If successful we would like to run this at future CABN events, please support it if you can.

The first CABN swap shop will take place at Manifest 2022 on 14th December 2022.
