CABN – Evolving the Model | Update 18.08.22

Cabnevolving

The CABN Evolve Steering Group has now met seven times since the start of June, which is an incredible commitment of time and energy in such a short period of time. We hugely appreciate the input, ideas and knowledge of all those who are supporting this process, including the CABN Advocates.

The key news is that we have secured funding and support from the Scottish Borders Place Partnership (Scottish Borders Council and Creative Scotland) as well as SoSE.  This enables us to recruit two freelance ‘Catalyst’ posts for 12 months to work through a transition and development towards a new, independent sector led model for CABN.  We’re not entirely sure what that will look like, but that’s the exciting bit!  It is an opportunity to build on all the learning to date and revision with fresh thinking.   Through this 12 month phase, there will be continued support to creative sector businesses, with CABN acting as a connector, deliverer, and catalyst.  We are aiming to advertise these posts in the next week, and recruit by the end of October 2022, enabling a full handover of CABN from Live Borders.

Felicity Bristow continues to keep a flow of information through the CABN bulletin and comms and is also supporting Mary Morrison with the actions coming out of the Steering Group.  Mary is working hard behind the scenes and liasing with key partners as well as having exploratory conversations with a range of organisations and individuals who we can learn from.

We continue to respond to enquiries as best we can – please bear with us if we don’t get back to you straight away! Where we can, we are also providing support and advice to various projects.

We’ll keep you updated as we move along, and if you have any questions or comments, please email mmorrison@liveborders1.org.uk
