RISE – Arts & Mental Health Symposium (24 May 2018)

10am- 4.30pm, Thursday 24th May 2018 Tower Mill, Heart of Hawick, TD9 0AE

This one day event starts from the belief that the arts offer an essential opportunity to improve mental health and wellbeing.  The symposium presents current thinking and showcases good practice nationally and locally, with the aim to explore, discuss and shape future approaches for collaborating across boundaries.

This event is aimed at anyone who works in, or has a specific interest, in arts and mental health and well-being – including artists, health professionals, policy makers, and organisations.

The day will be a mix of inspiring and informative presentations, with breakout sessions on key themes*, and musical performances by young people from the Soundcycle music project.

RISE is being delivered in partnership by CABN, Live Borders and the Joint Health Improvement Team (Scottish Borders Council/NHS Borders). This event takes place to coincide with the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival – with events taking place across Scotland from 7 – 27 May 2018.
