CABN – Evolving the Model | Update 30.06.22

SG_meeting 1_image003
We are still moving forward positively with the transition of CABN to an independent, sector led model with the support of the CABN Evolve Steering Group and key partners (Live Borders, Creative Scotland and Scottish Borders Council.)

The Steering Group are meeting frequently and recently requested that the deadline for the transition and support to do this be extended beyond the current deadline of 30th June to the end of October 2022.  We’re glad to say that Live Borders have confirmed Mary Morrison will continue to support the transition work full time for July and August and up to 2 days a week as she starts a new role within Arts & Creativity in September and October.  In addition, we will have some remaining funds from Creative Scotland for CABN Evolve will support Felicity Bristow to continue working in a part time freelance capacity to enable the flow of communications and work closely with Mary and the Steering Group on the transition.

The proposal now is to create a full-time freelance post to lead the transition and delivery of CABN for 1 year to 18 months. This post could be made up of two people working part time who have complimentary skills.  Additional capacity may be required around project support and communications in the form of an additional part time role.

We hope that funds can be identified as soon as possible and the role(s) advertised by the end of August. This will enable a handover of project information and assets while also giving time to develop the model and structure to suit the new CABN.

The Steering Group are also working on a Manifesto for CABN outlining ethos, values and activities.

We want to express huge thanks to the Steering Group for committing time, energy and expertise and to those people who have pledged support for CABN as it moves forward.

We’ll keep you updated as we move along, and if you have any questions or comments, please email mmorrison@liveborders1.org.uk
