Guest Speaker Spotlight: Anna Fleming at Writers Gather

Anna Fleming

We are delighted to announce that Anna Fleming will be joining us as a guest speaker at Writers Gather, our networking event for writers in the Scottish Borders, taking place at Eastgate Theatre as part of the Wild Writers Festival on Thursday 29th January, 4.30–6.30pm.

Anna Fleming is a climber, writer, alpinist and artist, and the acclaimed author of Time on Rock (Canongate). Her writing is widely recognised for its thoughtful exploration of landscape, movement and the human relationship with the natural world.

She is a regular contributor to Caught by the River and has published work across a wide range of journals, magazines and anthologies, as well as writing for The Guardian. Anna also maintains a well-regarded blog, The Granite Sea, where she reflects on her experiences in wild places and the creative process.

Alongside her literary career, Anna is a qualified Mountain Leader, has worked with the Cairngorms National Park Authority, and completed a PhD at the University of Leeds. She currently lives in Edinburgh.

We are also pleased to welcome Kerri Andrews, CABN Advocate for Writing, who will be attending to share insights and support opportunities for writers working in the region.

Writers Gather offers a relaxed and welcoming space for writers of all stages to connect, exchange ideas, and build community. A light supper will be provided.
