CABN – Evolving the Model Update

CABN is currently in transition out of Live Borders and we are busy working towards a new model for the project in partnership with the Scottish Borders Cultural Forum.

There has been a lot of activity over the last couple of months:

Evaluation of CABN (involving nearly 150 people)
CABN – Evolving the Model event on the 10^th May at Mac Arts (over 50 attendees – in person and online)
CABN Evolve Steering Group – First Meeting 1^st June

We’ve been working with Grace Cardozo and the team at Sleeping Giants which has been invaluable as we move through uncharted territory and want to ensure we engage constructively with all those who have an interest and investment in the work of CABN.  We’ve been really overwhelmed by the support and input we’ve had so far on this journey.  From the event on the 10^th May, there were over 30 pledges of support including time, advice, support, skills and resources, with many offering to be involved on the steering group and several people who offered to be Trustees or Directors of the potential new Board of an independent CABN.

So where are we now? The evaluation of CABN showed that 94% of respondents feel that CABN is a valuable network hi-lighting the continuing need for the support CABN provides, as well as giving some insights into future developments.

TThe first meeting of the CABN Evolve Steering Group was held yesterday in Galashiels, we’re moving fast, and aiming to arrive at the end of June with a clear route forwards for CABN.  We’ll keep you updated as we move along, and if you have any questions or comments, please email mmorrison@liveborders1.org.uk
