September Gathering of the Scottish Borders Cultural Forum

The September Gathering of the Scottish Borders Cultural Forum will take place at the Haining in Selkirk and will tie in with this year’s YES Arts Festival. There will be a chance after the gathering to attend the launch of the Moving Image Makers Collective’s exhibition.

The gathering will begin with some short presentations. Jenna Agate, Convenor of the YES Arts Festival will talk about this year’s event; Michelle Ballantyne, Chair of the Haining Trust, will talk about the vision for the Haining; Clea Wallis of DudendanceTheatre will speak about ‘Out of the Wild’ – a site-specific promenade performance devised by Dudendance using a small team of professional dancers working alongside local teenagers; and Kerry Jones of the Moving Image Makers Collective will give a short talk about the group, their current projects and exhibitions.

​The Scottish Borders Cultural Forum supports the work of the local cultural sector by creating a space for networking, sharing concerns, ideas and resources and finding solutions to common problems. It comes together informally on a monthly basis in different locations and provides a social get together, a discussion, and a lively cultural experience.

There is no formal agenda for Cultural Forum gatherings, with the discussion being driven by those attending and it is a chance to meet in interesting places, exchange and share information and focus on particular topics which emerge.

Teas, coffees and biscuits will be available at the start of the gathering.  Please confirm when booking if you have any special dietary requirements.
